Added a rudimentary keyword job search on every vendor page. A user looking at a vendor's details can now use this link to see any jobs posted by that vendor.

We've added polls to the mix - simple though they are, polls are a great, simple and easy way to get answers or opinions from others on things topmost on one's mind.
Last but definitely not the least, there is a job search (many thanks to the folks at Indeed), that pleasantly finds jobs posted by several desi consultants. Try using the desi consulting company's name as the keyword in the job search; location is not a required field anyway.

Hey All
JVR is well under way with a scattering of registrants displaying spurts of activity. Now that we are ready for use and 'out there', it would seem logical that we start to spread the word, so to speak. So many great ideas have been known to fail in the face of a lack of awareness - we think its time we focused on making JVR known to the community it seeks to help.
Considering techies on H1 visas make up the best chunk of clients that most job vendors cater to, either directly or via a go-between, a good place to start would be forums such as murthy.com and immigrationportal.com; probably the best medium to put a message out to the H1 community.
We think the first post of this blog, or some version of it, would be an appropriate message to be utilizing to this effect; and then take it from there..

Hey All
We just got done deploying some additional features to the website. From our last post, we'd added a forum for people to conduct discussions and decided to link each vendor to have its own discussion. A user can now view a vendor's details and directly link to a conversation started exclusively about the vendor; we thought it'd help keeping vendor specific discussions in the same place.
That being done, we're seeing a moderate increase of traffic on the website. However, being entirely content driven, we can understand the appeal, or lack thereof, to a new visitor because of the relatively nominal amout of data currently on the website. On the same note, its the users that can make JVR a helpful place to be and if you are reading this, we'd really appreciate if you would help spread the word. The core objective of starting this site was to develop an easy to use and well laid out platform for reviewing vendors - to whatever extent we add functionality, it remains completely up to our users to make this an effectively valuable asset.
We'd also appreciate any comments and suggestions about JVR usability and feature requests - we can be reached a jobvendorreview@gmail.com.

JVR went live on August 20, 2007. We're still very much in a BETA phase and probably will be for some time, while we iron out glitches and try to make things look consistent. Feel free, if you will, to use the features provided. We already have some folks asking questions in the Conversations section, so that's a nice start.

Hi there
Welcome to JobVendorReview.com, or JVR as we like to call ourselves. What we do is fairly obvious - JVR is a platform that allows people to review and rate vendors. We're just about to hit BETA with a set of basic functionality, and add new features as we go along.
Considering the number of jobs that are marketed through vendors, it's quickly becoming more and more important for people in the job market to be aware of what vendors have to offer. The relationship between an employer and an employee is an important one - one that directly impacts several factors where an employee is concerned, and primarily productivity in the interests of the employer. We've ourselves been through the experience of having worked for several vendors, learning, in the process, the nuances of working in such a paradigm.
Looking back, we might have been better off armed with more information than we were; done things a little differently had we been more aware of how the industry worked - let's face it, vendors are for-profit businesses - understandably, their interests come first. JobVendorReview.com hopes to be of assistance in the matter - we all have our experiences and opinions - let's share them and learn from each other.
Having said that, we aim to be an impartial platform, irrespective of our users being vendors or individuals. We hope everyone stands to gain from this venture - especially as we continue to add functionality to aid all those involved.
